The text covers 1600-1740, beginning with some of the first permanent English settlements in North America and following the story as all 13 colonies are established. This guide is age-flexible and can be used as desired for family-style or individual history study but is recommended for approximately 5th-8th grades. Questions are intentionally designed to require the student to not simply race through reading this text but to stop, to consider details and to consider how the stories of history are being told and why they are being told in this way.
